Volunteer Projects

From time to time, the Office of Alumni Relations is asked by other departments and programs to find volunteers to help with specific projects. Currently we have three projects that we are looking for help from specific groups of alumni volunteers. If you would like to volunteer with Park but don't fit with any of these projects, email the Office of Alumni Relations with your name and ideas.

YOUNG ALUMNI STORIES

  • If you have graduated from Park University since 2010 and are under the age of 30, we would like to know how you have used your Park University degree. The purpose of the project is to help the Admissions Office create a slideshow and brochure for the Parkville Daytime Campus program. Send us a recent photo along with your career or graduate school story. We will add these to the slideshow we are creating to show parents and prospective students during Scholarship Days, each January and February. Email your story and photo to alumnioffice@park.edu . (Include your t-shirt size. We will send you a Park University t-shirt as a thank you.)

  • Do you live in the Kansas City area? If so, we are looking for young alumni (same demographics as above) to speak to parents for about an hour during a question and answer session during the Scholarship Days, dates for Fall 2015 to be determined. If you would like to share your Park experience and discuss how you are using your degree, please contact Erik Bergrud, Associate Vice President for Alumni and Constituent Relations, erik.bergrud@park.edu .

  • Don't fit these demographics? We would like to hear from you, too. Similar projects for our other campuses and programs are on the drawing board.

ALUMNI MENTORS

Interested alumni who want to offer their expertise, guidance and support to students are invited to apply to be an alumni mentor.

AUSTIN ALUMNI

We are looking for alumni who would like to work with Alumni Association Past President Jeff McKinney, '81, to form an alumni chapter in the Austin area. The group would organize activities to allow alumni to network, socialize and support Park University in the Austin area. Please email us if you are interested in signing up to help.

ALUMNI COUNCIL

If you are interested in serving as a member of the Alumni Council or one of its committees, please email your interest to the Nominating Committee Chairperson, Jeff McKinney, jeff.mckinney@park.edu.  The Alumni Council is the governing board of the Alumni Association. You may also submit a nomination for Alumni Council members online. Self-nominations are encouraged.
